C16 is a signal peptide that binds to the surface of Streptococcus Mutants.
Assembly Compatibility:
- 10COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[10]
- 12COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[12]
- 21COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[21]
- 23COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[23]
- 25COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[25]
- 1000COMPATIBLE WITH RFC[1000]
Design Notes
We truncate mature CSP(21 amio acid) into smaller peptide CSPC16 .(16 amio acid) to avoid interaction with our modified phage. Fluorescently labeled CSPC16 bound to UA159 and the comD mutant in a similar manner with CSP, indicating that the specific binding ability of CSPC16 to S. mutans is independent of the presence of ComD.
Source
We derive our C16 peptide from the genome of Streptococcus Mutants UA159.
